Description
We used this axle for about the last 1/3 of the production run of the LIDO 1 (750 grinders). Stainless steel, machined wrench flat just under the handle threads to assist in handle removal. Fits all LIDO 1 burrs. We were extremely happy with the machining of this part - threads & tolerances are very good on it!
To install this axle on your LIDO 1 you must: Remove the handle and lower burr adjustment bar. Remove the axle with burr from the grinder - using appropriate caution, HEAT the axle right above the burr to weaken the Loctite. Holding the axle with vise grip, or in a vice is helpful - don't worry about scarring the axle since you are replacing it, but take care not to drop or hurt the burr! Loosen the bolt on the bottom of the burr using the appropriate wrench. The bolt is standard threading & comes off by turning CCW. When you have the burr off, inspect the inner channel & clean out any remnants of Loctite. Slide the burr onto the new axle, tighten the supplied bolt - you may need to hold the axle in a gripping tool or vice but use padding to protect the axle from scarring. Install back into your LIDO 1 - you may need to readjust any zero marker you use because the bolt head will be a different height than before. Available while supplies last.
